Strike Hardship Fund
THE FUND IS CLOSED UNTIL JOB ACTION BEGINS
Fund Details
Local 38's Strike Hardship Fund provides financial assistance-of-last-resort to our neediest members during the term of job action.
- Review the full Fund Guidelines
- The Fund provides interest-free loans to a maximum of $1500 per applicant.
- Applicants may only apply once to the fund during the term of job action.
- The Strike Hardship Fund is not intended to be “strike pay” - Provincial Executive Council has not provided teachers with strike pay during this job action. All members will experience financial hardship during job action - the SHF is designed to mitigate that impact on our neediest members.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for the Fund, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a current teacher employee of the Calgary Board of Education (whether on contract or a substitute teacher - substitute applicants must have taught a minimum of one full day during the current school year)
- Have a demonstrated financial hardship, showing that all other options for financial support have been exhausted
Application
Application for the SHF is available through the Local's online application portal. Please use a personal/private/non-work email address OR personal/non-CBE Google Account - we will contact you through this address regarding your application.
